I have thought of driving a School buss when I semi retire, I have even spoken to the buss company down the road that my son takes to school. Told them I would need between 18 - 20 maybe more depending on when I feel I am done in computers. I should have no problem getting it.
Yes I agree the busing company should have been planning back to School but considering it seems everyone else needs help I would expect the same from the buss companies.

My wife is a school bus driver, and has written to Ford, Lecce, and our local MPP about the situation. The drivers seem to be the forgotten ones when it came to starting school back up. Everyone seems so concentrated on keeping the teachers happy with distancing and contact rules that they have forgotten about getting the kids to school. Seems ridiculous to enforce social distancing at school, yet packing a bus full of kids twice a day, with no ability to distance seems very hypocritical. Buses are referred to as petri dishes on wheels for a reason. As well, my wife was just notified today that the PPE they are required to wear, and was ordered some time ago by the company, has not arrived. The bus company says if they don't receive it by Friday noon, they will not be putting the buses on the road Tuesday.

Here in Russell there will be staggered runs half of the kids first round the other half the next run, 1 kid per seat. Drivers here wearing mask and shield. Daycares are also petrie dishes with little virus age 1 - 5 running around and waiting for the big virus to pick them up.

No staggered runs here, only one in the morning and one in the afternoon. My wife has 48 students, and 24 seats, so distancing is non existant. The school boards are keeping all the classes isolated from each other while in school, yet my wife has a melting pot of kids from JK up to Grade 12, delivered and picked up at three different schools. As I said, all the concern seems to be about what goes on in the school, and no thought about how contradictory the rules between bussing and schooling are.

In this area there are kids who are on the bus at 07:45 for an hour long ride to school. Havent heard about the staggering times here but I doubt any parent will put their small child on a bus at 06:45? I agree with Delmer, very little, if any, thought has been put into getting the kids to school?

Were 10 km's from the School. Yet my son is the first picked up and by the time they get there it takes 45 minutes go figure.

Schools were already staggered here so most buses/drivers are doing a high school run first thing in the morning then an elementary school run and the same at night.
On Friday all the grade 9 and 10 students started school here (grade 9 only on Thursday), son said there were only 3 on his bus and the rest were either driven or are staying online
