People don't understand how badly migrant workers are needed for Ontario/ CDN farmers . My dad use to work farms with his father back in the Dirty 30's in Southern Ontario. Back breaking, dead dog tired, dirty, low paying work but that was all there was back then. No free ride on the Pogey Express like now. I read somewhere we hire 50-60 thousand workers to put grub on our tables. Those workers in turn shop at local stores for use here and to send back to their homes wherever that may be. Fruit trees need pruning now ! If not they won't produce properly and could affect them for years. We will be paying a lot more for fruits and veggies this fall.

As for the powers that be ? The last time I remember the Earth standing still was the Cuba missile crisis. Well here we are at the start of another global crisis and we can only hope that those elected to look out for us are up to the task. Keep in mind... they are only human but by working together and listening to the experts we shall survive this lesson because guaranteed this won't be the last.

The economy will bounce back... it always has. True some will lose jobs or business or money on the Stock Market but we will get back to work because that's what we do. Besides.... who do you think is going to pay for it all ?

Lots of sobering data out yesterday. With March 31st being most companies fiscal Q2. We can expect more over the next couple weeks.

Job losses were staggering. A number of companies in different sectors also showing bad signs. The scariest will be housing, real estate. This being the traditional spring market......not sure when we will start seeing data. May I’m guessing.
