Got a chance for cheap to acquire one square non leaking 784 ih. Tons compression, but not even a puff when cold or cool rolling. intermediate front drive shaft "GOT LOST" Can it be made or sourced. Any answer appreciated. This deal dies soon

Shaft should be no problem, IH is pretty good about stocking parts, lots of parts tractors at wreckers and any decent machinist should be able to make one as well. Try ether? Are you sure the fuel is getting there? Ask over at newagtalk.com

If it's in good shape grab it. The missing front drive shaft can be found, or built.
You can even build one with square tube.

But lean on the guy about the missing shaft, you may get a few more dollars off the price.

That front axle was Italian or some European make but you should be able to find one at wrecker
Those tractors came with ether won’t hurt it
they need ether to start if you parked it in the shade

If it has a cab it has to come off to fix most of it
