Freedom Mobile........ feedback required
Hi there
Any real users out there....
Trying to figure out if my cell phone actually will work in their so called "Nationwide calling area"...
Not too concerned with the data working more so for phone/text.... Example...I am up north Parry Sound and get coverage with rogers, will my freedom nationwide work there too? That is my main concern, will I get the same coverage that rogers or bell can provide with their Nationwide Network?
I have spoken to a few sales rep and they say yes, their system has changed since last April, now offering Nationwide plans.....
Just a little skeptical and looking for any person(s) with real life experience, as I said they tell me their network has been updated this past April and Nationwide calling/texting will allow me to piggyback off of the other (Rogers/Bell/Telus) towers....
If this is true, I don't see the downside as their pricing is way better...

It should work, I went with a guy, who uses freedom to Sudbury, we both went into the woods near French river for some scouting, and it worked fine. He also got his data working too.

Is it an LTE or 3G phone? Once you determine that you can google the coverage maps.

Has too much time on their hands
Quite interesting, I will be getting rid of Rogers cell service after 13 years loyal customer service... SO in Ottawa we have Virgin, WIND (now freedom), Koodo. If you bring your own phone I can get 5Gig of data for around $65 per month.
Currently I pay $125 (for 2gig + 1extra Gig), and $75 per month for my daughter's IPhone (without any data). Both phones have been owned outright me for 2 yrs (no plan) I had no idea, how badly I was getting hosed, and called to ask for customer loyalty program for a better deal...they said NO...
Now the other factor here in Ottawa is Videotron (QC Company, which has better prices, more data and features), plus has all the coverages here in Ottawa and Nationwide towers (Via Bell/Rogers/Telus), and no roaming fees (heavily subsidized by (Feds/QC Prov). I have yet to actually check them out, but will this weekend on Costco Beer run.
As for service ensure you know about roaming fees (almost non existent anymore), and then how many minutes, long distance, ect, ect you get with each plan. As for coverage, when I hunt I don't have any, at the cottage as well, I have to go down to lake, so not much of a factor.
