We are proud to announce that with the help, support and partnership ofCabela's, we are now taking applications for our very first Youth Hunting Mentorship Program.
Our program will see 6 kids aged 12 to 17 receive their hunting and firearms certification courses and testing to obtain their permits and licenses. Successful applicants will also participate in multiple hands-on seminars which will include an introduction to waterfowl hunting, archery, skeet shooting and much more. The program will finalize with all participants taking part in a waterfowl hunt on Ontario Waterfowler Heritage Day this September with the members of our chapter.
Do you know a youth who would possibly like to be part of this great program? No experience or equipment is required. To qualify, applicants will be:
- Between 12 and 17 years of age on July 9th, 2019.
- Residents of Ontario living within a 40km radius of the Ottawa Airport.
- Available to attend hunter safety education and firearms safety courses held at Cabela’s Ottawa from July 9th to 12th.
- Able to provide their own transportation to the courses, events and activities. (If that’s a problem, we can help).
- Able to pay the course fees of 280$ (if financial difficulty is an issue, please let us know. We can help.)
- Willing to participate for the entire program from start to finish.
- Passionate about hunting, the outdoors and conservation.
- Ready to make great memories and have lots of fun!
