Yes, .... more evidence of how f****** u* our legal system is.... is it just me or does it seem that our legal system think the victim and the honest are the problem and the criminal deserve better treatment?
First homicide of 2019.
https://torontosun.com/news/local-ne...micide-of-2019
sentenced to two years less a day on top of 256 days of pre-trial custody for robbery and failing to comply convictions in Newmarket in 2013.
Two years ago, he was convicted of possession of a firearm and received time served — 45 days pre-sentence custody — and a $10 fine.
In January 2014, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (an armoured truck robbery) and received a suspended sentence, 18 months probation on top of time served.
He also has convictions for assaulting his girlfriend and then breaching conditions to stay away from her.
Think someone defending themselves etc. that is generally honest would get 45 days and a $10 fine or probation?

Yep sounds about right 45 days time served for a firearm. Its 30 days for a breach. I complained about how the easy the justice system really is in another gun thread.
Also if you look back into last year the 14 year old mississauga boy who was killed . The 2 brothers up for the murder had some previous charges that should of kept them behind bars . But the way it is you can pretty much do what you want and be out the next day.
And yes thats just how it is I can rob you Monday get out on Tuesday steall your car Tuesday and be back out Wednesday. Untill this changes things will stay the same. I would say I could steal your stuff today and be out but its a Friday. Going to be stuck in the holding cell for the weekend unless you get a promise to appear witch you can get for most of your first crimes.
I remember spending a weekend in the slammer after a traffic stop I wasnt wearing a seatbelt. It was a Friday afternoon had to stay till Monday morning lol. Was because I was not supposed to be with the person I was with. We had previous charges together. And like I said in the other post I did my year sentence in about 80 days or less lol.
Change this and there will be less crimes the baill system should be changing aswell.
