Have you looked at any of the studies/evidence on the long term use of Alcohol and Tobacco and their impact on the human body? Alcohol and Tobacco use can and do have massive complications over the long haul, this is very well documented. Have you looked at any of the studies/evidence on the long term use of opioids and their impact on the human body?

There are 2 things here, Use and Abuse, use in all of the above cases is just fine in moderation, abuse is where the problem lies.

We prescribe people poison every single day but they are not poisoned unless they go out and take too much of the prescription, heck, people do it with cheese burgers too.

Use responsibly and it will be fine, abuse anything, legal or not and you will be a burden on the healthcare system.

Sure it's not perfect for your health. Smoking anything isn't. Edibles and vaporizing is different. Still not perfect but still better. You know what else is bad for your health? Most of the crappy food out there (that people feed their kids), alcohol, tobacco, not exercising, air quality in many many workplaces and professions, think sitting in traffic woth your windows down isn't going to have some effect if only acute? Pot is not the boogeyman. People will see that nearly nothing will change except where people get it.

Worried about people driving while high now that its legal? Guess what lots of people have been doing that for a long long time, not condoning this its just a fact. Sure public spaces isnt the best way to go about it, guess what people have been doing that too, most responsible adults still wont do that and will in the privacy of their home. And I believe that novelty will wear off anyway

Worried about the paranoia? This isnt meth or heroin, this paranoia will make you hide your face in your sweater for a bit until you come down and realize you were being silly. Sure there is some cases where its worse than others, I know am individual who had issues with paranoid schizophrenia where pot brought it out of him so he stopped, but hey guess what! It was an underlying issue that could have been brought out by trauma, poor nutrition, lack of exercise, an accident, head injury, pot didnt create it, just was his trigger Which he recognized and changed.

No this stuff isnt perfect but its not the boogeyman either, I do not believe legalization will just cause the masses to start toking and turning into deranged lunatics. People are worried about it getting into the hands of kids, they are already getting it. Theres a small to large handful of dealers at every high school, the ones who want to do it already are and will continue, the ones who dont want to won't.

Its legal now so guess what else, ive been doing it for years! I have everything going for me, married and on my second house with my wife, in a good career, successful and happy and I'm a hard worker and morivated in my work and personal life. I know ALOT of people who are like me and most wouldnt ever guess it. Theres always a couple bad apples out there. Whether its chain smoking, alcoholism, abusing prescriptions, overeating fast food, never exercise and habe health issues they caused themselves and get medical care for. But the bad apples are almost always the exception, not the norm.

There's a lot of concerns that people will find are not real problems as time goes on. People are already doing this, so no more treating people like myself as second class citizens while my neighbour can drink himself into a stupor every weekend but hey, thats what we know and it's accepted. Maybe frowned upon but was (almost) always legal.

If you're worried about the second hand high well dont stay in an enclosed space with someone whos smoking, sure maybe hes a d*ck for doing that or blowing it in your face but tell them and walk away (most people wont just subject you to that) like you would with cigarette smoke, just because you can smell it in the distance though doesnt mean your going to get high and freak out. Hey i dont like a lot of the food smells out there and odours from local business or manufacturing close to residential areas or the guy who doesnt pick up his dog crap but thats just life, full of sights sounds and peeeeeyeeeeew smells.

Nothing directed at anyone here, its just not the boogeyman and really, life is hardly going to change or anything people are already doing this!

I do not condone using while driving, operating machinery or heavy equipment, hunting or anything, it's for just relaxing and socializing in a responsible way, giggling at a funny movie, enjoying good music or food, having deep conversations with friends, and that is MY choice what i put in my body good or bad.

So come on put me in my place, I'll have a toke, laugh, let it roll off my shoulders, go to sleep and wake up ready to work, hunt, chore and it will not impede any of that, never has!...except for the ones who do it just to sit around their moms basement playing video games haha yeah there is some who fit that movie/media stereotype but not all, just like not everyone who drinks is an abusive alcoholic
