How many of those staff are replacements for those retiring, or moving on to other pursuits? Was there an actual increase? Those #s mean nothing without more data.

Stat's Can says that there was an increase of 85,500 Public employees in Canada Dec 2016 to Dec 2017
    http://www.statcan.gc.ca/daily-quoti.../t002a-eng.htm

Looks like the big government and bloated payrolls are back.... and like his useless daddy it will probably take a decade to trim and get rid of the lard and the union retards in government that never should have been hired. The number of public employees is already ridiculous and we have Wynne hiring 175 to enforce their business agenda.

Right now only 183 listings in Ontario to be filled .... and probably about 300 jobs but about 1/3 are student jobs.
    https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Jobs.aspx

This listing for example has 17 openings but isn't for a student.
    Customer Service Rep 2
    Salary: $24.71 - $28.65 Per Hour
    *
    * OPSEU of course.

They are looking for a bunch of student, there are 59 listings for students and some have quite a few openings.
    https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Preview...h&JobID=116722 (14)
    https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Preview...h&JobID=116724 (31)
    https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Preview...h&JobID=116729 (24)
    https://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/Preview...h&JobID=116716 (50)

All paying $14 to $14.85.... so more than student minimum wage of course and they have the "*Indicates the salary listed as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement." so the union is likely parasiting off the students on all these..

These are not gov jobs but the job bank is interesting sometimes to.

well the statistics don't include people off unemployment (meaning those seeking jobs but not getting the unemployment or welfare checks), which includes me.
I've been looking for a job with low success since October 2017; got a 2nd interview lined up on Tuesday, hopefully its the one that gives me the job long-term.

I'll challenge you to do your own data search. Go to some homeless centers and volunteer to serve meals, not just for a couple of minutes, try a couple of days. Tour some areas where homeless people are living under tarps and talk to them. You'll soon find that instead of the stereotypical mentally ill and drug addicted, they're vastly outnumbered by unemployed or under employed who have lost good paying jobs and the financial world fell out from under them. The average Canadian who,on the surface, look to be doing well financially, are actually eyeballs deep in debt, less than four paychecks away from the "downhill slide" to bankruptcy and loss of their homes. You really need to look passed the Liberal-leftist "spin" on the financial stability of the economy.. It's far from the rosy picture they like to depict.

Remember you said Canadians , not Ontarians. Yes it is all across Canada , but how is it the Libs fault when they have only been in power for a couple of years ? This trend did not start overnight but over past decades, even while the cons held power federally. The Cons had 10 years in power , with a majority for some of it, did nothing about it ,but it is the libs fault...... LOL..... T , I guess that it would be hard to find, 'homeless people living under tarps' ,out where you live in the 'boonies' because they all gravitate to the GTA where the citiots can pay for, deal, and look after them.

By the time the CPC took over, the damage was already done by Liberals. The CPC inherited a raging cesspool of an economy with The Liberals allowing the WTO and IMF to dictate the shytehole we found ourselves in,unfettered. Thankfully,we had a CPC government in place during the worst economic crash since the Great Depression. I shudder to think where Canada would be had they not been there. The Liberals failed miserably to stand up for Canada and Canadians. We're seeing a carbon copy with Justin AND Kathleen Wynne. It's a disgrace and an abomination, pure and simple.

Absolutely correct trimmer21 ! Liberal supporters fail to acknowledge this and should give praise to Harper for getting us through this extremely difficult 8 to 10 years. The Liberal downfall has always been ego, lies and deceit. Maybe an e-collar will work on a Liberal. Probably not.
