Illegal guns yes, can be purchased illegally in most major cities but............................................... ..................in the US you can buy a handgun or any firearm for that matter without a background check legally when purchased through a private seller....no background check required....(that's the difference/loophole)

You can also buy a car, u haul truck, rent a van buy alcohol without a background check. What is your point. Paddock apparently bought leagal firearm, he just used them illegally which already has law to address that.

There are laws against home invasion but look at the UK vs the US. Why is one worsethan the other? I doubt laws are the reason as both countries outlaw it.

Are we going to take everyone's cars, alcohol, u haul trucks knives fists, feet, baseball bats yada yada away? Or we going to realize the debauchery, lack of morality, etc. pushed upon society in the name of rights?

We have property rights AND can sell as we please to whom we please privately.

Just wait the libs will blame this on Trump and Russia somehow............

Seeing that a lot of people here are apathetic. How many more people must die? 100,000? 200,000? 1 million? before you come to a realisation of the situation and the solutions to solve it.

The problem is Bonkers that you have no clue what the problem actually is.

Should they ban "assault" rifles or all semi auto rifles? What about lever actions or pumps? They can be shot quickly. Can they prove that criminals will not be able to get any firearms? What do they do if someone goes on a stabbing spree, do you ban all the knives? How about a truck, France proved that when you cannot get guns you can use a big truck, do you ban big trucks?

You are missing the fundamental problem here, the wrong people are having easy access and too many people are tweaking and killing, maybe if they figure out why people are tweaking and killing they may be able to solve this problem. If they take away all the guns from the Americans do you really think the people that may do something like this would ever turn in their guns? Do you have any idea how many militias there are in the US? Do you know how may paramilitary organizations are out there? You would take the guns out of the hands of a guy who hunts coyotes but you would never get the guns out of the hands of something who thinks the government is out to get them.

    You have no idea

I think you are missing the point too! Driving a truck thru a crowd did some real damage in France but not so much elsewhere (Canada a week ago) because it is not the right tool to kill. An assault riffle, or whatever you call it, is the perfect tool and you know why?!? Because that's what it's meant for....

So, tell us what is the solution?

    Background check doesn't work.
    Training doesn't work.
Telling peoples that killing other is bad, doesn't work.
Spending money on crazies doesn't help the ones that don't know they are crazy.
    And so on....
You can't fix them all but they all have easy access to a bunch of real weapon.... And I wish I could too!

Not the same thing.... buying a gun without a background check is a lot different than renting a van (even then a current/valid driver's licence (ID) comes into play)....
Just too many ways for someone to get a gun legally in the US without getting checked properly.

One should be able to sell one's property without government intervention, and that is what we do.

He had, apparently, 50 ish guns which he apparently purchased over decades, had background checks on them, so how does a background check stop Las Vegas or do we simply want to do the liberal idiocy and pass more moronic gun laws?

For every large number of folk that purchases a car, u haul, knife, bat, gun, scissors etc, there are a very small amount that use them to do criminal harm, why punish everyone like a 1st grade teacher? Why take one person's rights away because another person can't function correctly in society? That my friend IS insanity.

Almost a direct quote of the words of the Democratic speaker on the Congress floor today. You got any thoughts or ideas that are your own?
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
