I agree BM, I have lots of army buddies that I had worked with for 25 yrs that now live across this country in retirement ..we use FB to keep in touch. Also a great way to talk with with family, both mine and the wife's side that are spread all across north America.

The new age Penny Saver,..FB is a great place to shop for used equipment in the 'swap and sell' groups; ie there is a local one called 'Hunting and Fishing gear Ottawa Region' ..great place to buy and sell equipment and see notices posted for local hunting/fishing events etc...

But I guess if your a curmudgeon ....it might not be a good place for you ..LOL...

Just a thought, but maybe this should be in the Off topic section?

.....and I do find it very ironic a person with more then 1000 posts on a message forum is making fun of those who use Facebook.

    I give them pictures

I also listen to their conversations, give them the "thumbs up" and tell them I like them.

And it works! Just like Facebook.

I already have four people following me: two undercover police

I hope everyone who reads this shares it with all their friends,,,,,,,,,,,,I sent it to 25 people

    Love the joke!

When used "properly", Facebook is a great tool.

Loved it!!! Especially since I dont have facebook this hits home! too many people wrapped up in social media its hard to get people to even discuss their problems openly with each other...everyone wants to hide behind their computers and talk big but in person those people wouldnt say a word to you...you also forgot the part where you "poke" people...try that in real life going around poking people to get their attention your gonna end up with a knuckle sandwich!
