Justin Trudeau and the Liberal's once again show preference for one religion over another and the reality that some citizens are more preferred by this pathetic government! We see Trudeau ignoring a Canadian citizen and Chretien taking great efforts to get the release of Ahmed Khadr (a terrorist). Khadr gets $10,500,000 and Qian gets ignored .... because Justlied admires their gov't perhaps?

Ms. Sun Qian is a Canadian citizen who was arrested on February 19, 2017, in Beijing. She has been detained solely because of her belief in Falun Gong — a peaceful meditation discipline centred on the values of truth, compassion, and tolerance, which has been brutally persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Ms. Sun has faced torture and mistreatment in custody, and we are calling for her immediately release her and for the release of all prisoners of conscience in China.

On the morning of February 19, a group of plainclothes security agents entered Ms. Sun’s home and took her from her bed in handcuffs. The officers showed no identification. They spent several hours searching her home without a warrant, while Ms. Sun was locked in a secret location. She was then transferred to the infamous cell 414 of the Beijing First Detention Center, where she remains in custody.

Over the last five months, she has been locked in solitary confinement, shackled tightly with handcuffs, and pepper sprayed. Prison guards reportedly used an excessive amount of the chemical, and then covered Ms. Sun’s face to prolong the pain. After being pepper sprayed, she was not permitted to change clothes for over ten days, further extending her exposure. She was left in handcuffs for 24 hours a day for nearly two weeks, and has been prohibited from purchasing food, toiletries, or other necessities such as underwear or socks.

Ms. Sun is among the hundreds of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who have been detained in China for their spiritual beliefs. She has broken no laws, but is being imprisoned and tortured solely for the exercise of her fundamental rights and freedoms. The Chinese government does not respect our values, our principles, or our love for freedom, but they do respond when Western countries take a stand for their own principles and their own citizens, and speak out for them.

We are asking Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to do everything in his power to secure her safe release, and to call for the end to the persecution of Falun Gong. Our government has an obligation to defend and protect Canadian citizens, and we all have a duty to defend human dignity, freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the rule of law, whenever and wherever these values come under assault.

He could demand that she be released and spend the rest of her sentence in Canada as they did for Khadr , but it will never happen .
