I sure hope so, for shooters something that was already prohib would bring to light what we have all been saying, our laws are tight enough, this was illegal to begin with.

Hey Joe, I hope all the Muslim men down your way agree with you and arm yourself, it would make you feel really good would it not?
Oh, welcome back, it has been a little quiet here.

If they turn out to be SKS's anybody who owns one best sell it while they can. Wendy and her crew will come after them. Lepine used a mini 14, is there any evidence of any other murders with that weapon since?

The casualty numbers don't support that narrative, unless some of our already onerous laws were broken.

The mini - 14 is a non-restricted in Canada, the AR 15 that is such an evil firearm and restricted has never once been used in a mass shooting in Canada.
The mini - 14 shooting was the basis for the magazine restriction.

Exactly, but if it was an SKS - D with a 30rd mag or an SKS with the pin removed, making them illegal anyway would not change the perspective.
That shooter in Ottawa used a 30-30 lever action deer rifle, glad they did not decide it needed to be banned.

I read somewhere one of the shooters actually left and returned into the building twice. That could have been to clear a jammed rifle or replace mags both of which kind of show these guys either were not highly trained or used poor quality rifles. I'm thinking a real AK47 wouldn't jam in a church after firing that many rounds? Aren't they one of the most dependable assault rifles?

Like I said. Info at the moment is sketchy at best.
If shooter left, and returned that's hard to determine. Clearing a jam or replacing a mag shouldn't require leaving an active area, and in fact would be counter productive, leaving one shooter alone, but then again.....untrained shooter....
AKs aren't terribly prone to jamming, but highly speculative as to the condition of the firearm being used.
Too many holes and unknowns at this point. We could speculate for hours on what we don't know.

Houses of worship and civilians are always out of bounds and should be in any war or conflict. However terrorism, on either side, is seldom like that. Condolences to the victims, pretty sorry to attack civilians and people worshiping.
Big Picture......... Trudeau should purchase some intelligence and original thought from his neighbor as he apparently can't nor can his administration see past their social justice/green noses.
ISIS is splintering as we speak and has been for months. Look at Mosul, Raqqa, etc. and the sheer number against them and as this happens they will die or splinter. Being made up of foreign fighters, some will stay and some will return home.
Guess were home is? USA? Canada? MOROCCO? Quebec? The US ban and the way it was implemented makes perfect sense to anyone with sense. Only a FOOL like Trudeau and his admin. would WELCOME and encourage people openly and blindly from those countries listed on the temporary ban. Remember ISIS fighters will be trying to return to their country of origin and/or to new countries they see as targets.
Very easy to enter a naive, wrong-headed country under the guise of refugee status, etc.
Current worldwide Immigration policies are divisive to all parties. Proper vetting makes sense, tweeting and pretending to have the moral high ground, being stupid, naive and playing to the world stage gets you Quebec City. And it gets you that about 8 hours after the self righteous trudeau tweet.
Canada needs leadership that thinks beyond the next selfie, the next town hall photo op and beyond the next helicopter ride.
Trudeau...dangerously unready.

Boy I'll tell you something - I wake up ever morning and thank God that the people put Trump into office down here - he recognizes the problem and is doing something about it - he's the kind of guy you need up there - a right wing conservative with the guts to say is like it is - here is the slogan - make Canada great again -

What?
More people in the US are killed by toddlers every year than Muslim extremists.
In the US in 2016 there were 476 mass shooting, 476, almost all of them are home grown white Christian males.
The US ban does nothing, it does not even ban anyone from the countries where the 911 hijackers came from. The mass shootings in the US are from US citizens and mainly white males.
