Managed to get out for a quick fish at a river mouth. Got lucky and caught a fish, took some pics and released it. Looking at the pics and I’m confused to what this fish is. Is this a jack Atlantic salmon, coho or trout. I’m thinking coho but I’m really not sure. Attachment 45014

I would have guessed Atlantic but I haven’t caught a coho or Atlantic.
I was thinking at first look that it was an Atlantic because how slender it was but the tail didn’t look like an Atlantic which was throwing me off. So my guess is cohoQuote:

The tail was really forked and definitely no spots on it. So maybe an Atlantic?Quote:

Yes it is. The black "x" spots along the upper portion give it away. If your hands and everything else the fish touches are covered in scales, its a coho. OK, that's not a great way to id coho's, but they sure do seem to get scales all over everything.Quote:
