Apprentice hunter Emily Philips of Honey Harbour was on her first deer hunt on Manitoulin Island with her uncle, Andrew Scott, along with other family and friends. She was hunting from a tree stand with her uncle when this doe came out 40 feet from them. Emily made a well-placed double-lung shot with a Savage 7mm-08 supplied by her grandfather, Ed Scott. Emily is an active member of the Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club. Michele Vardy, who submitted this photo, will receive a $100 gift card from Canadian Tire just for submitting this photo.
