Anglers, hunters, hikers, canoeists, and campers will have an easier time finding information about Ontario’s conservation areas thanks to a new website launched in early June.

The new website found at www.ontarioconservationareas.ca provides visitors with 343 profiles that provide contact information and links to provincial conservation area websites, as well as maps, downloadable guides, an overview of activities permitted (including hunting and fishing in some areas), up to date information on closures, open hours, and more.

You can now filter search results for locations that allow hunting and fishing and other activities.

Ontario has 36 Conservation Authorities that manage 545 conservation areas that protect 150,000 hectares. Those conservation areas provide more than 8,000 available campsites and 3,510 trails to be explored. They attract approximately 10 million visitors annually.
