I think it's a good idea to listen and do what a police officer asks you to do! That's what I think.
"Watch this - what do you think"
You first
Bottom line, comply with the police !!!! We don't know why the vehicle was stopped. Buddy refused to stop and reached for his waistband.
Ordered to keep his hands up, reached again to his waistband....good shoot as far as I'm concerned, given the limited information...good thing he wasn't black !!!!!
Pretty sure the orders were clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suicide by cop in my opinion. There's only so many times you can say "get off the tracks" before a train runs you over........
Just another stupid S.O.B. that doesn't understand a command in plain English, he was told many times what to do and didn't, result, got shot .
Well, that sux, but,he was told what to do how many times? I counted eight by both officers. He reached behind his back like anyone going for a gun,I think,on purpose. Suicide? More than likely. If I was the cop,I would have done exactly the same thing.
Well, I guess he won't do that again. One less nutcase on the loose.
Wow, some crazy stuff right there....not how I might have handled it but then again........... I am sitting on my couch in a nice A/C room, so it wouldn't be right for me to judge...
I guess the guy was going to get shot because of the way he was acting - but I think at one point you could see that he didn't have a gun in his right hand - and maybe one shot would have been enough - he went down - I don't know about shooting him 4 times - but either way I am not losing any sleep over it
Video does not show what was under the shirt in the waistband, but it's a bad time to be "scratching" an itch.
I have walked the streets of Fresno, and it is a weird place. It may be the home of my favorite after market parts supplier for my toyota, but it's a strange place, with some very weird people. After dark you walk down some the streets and you'll know where just about every homeless person in America goes in the winter. They setup tent city's on empty lots, on just about any street that is not in the business district.
Cop's body cam is in a bad place...the back of his ear is not going to help in an investigation.
He was pursued WRT a man with a gun call, felony stopped and wouldn't show both hands. He then exited the vehicle without being asked and was non compliant x 8-10 times.
He walked towards officers with his right hand hidden and was shot. He was dscovered afterwards with a plastic bottle containing clay.
It could just as easily have been PETN, TATP or other explosive, cops aren't psychic.
These videos should never be shown. Transparency doesn't mean everyone in the public gets a view. It means the "civilian" police board or commission along with the appropriate authorities(District Attorney) view the video and determine if it needs Grand Jury(public) scrutiny.
What a shame that a 19 year old(who may not have been the actual suspect in the dispatch) is non compliant to the point of losing his life. Then the Chief airs the video without regards for other ill kids, the radical cop haters, other agencies that don't cough up the video while it's still warm and the privacy of all those involved in that tragic video.
Out of 330 million population, Cops will shoot 400-500 citizens every year and that number is relatively constant over the last decade or so if I remember the past FBI stats.
It is ridiculous to expect total public airing and viewing of every shooting.
I would have emptied my gun onto him, that's why they have large magazines.
The cops now get to go home unharmed, number one priority.
Looks like the police gave the idiot many chances to surrender and he chose to ignore it. This one looks by the book.
