I'm no fan of Mr. O'Leary,but,he's right on target with this.
Like him or not, he hit it bang on. If it takes some celebrity power to bring this government to task for the chronic mismanagement then I am good with that.
If he can maintain this effort it may be sufficient to get those that keep voting left to get their heads out of their es and start reading and understanding what is going on in the real world. Idealology doesn't pay the bills, fails in the face of what is technically feasible (read solar and wind power) and to date has failed to stop a single terrorist.
Someone needs to make government accountable!
Mr. O'Leary is the man !!!! I am really looking forward to O'Leary kicking some #ss and getting rid of all these Liberal scoundrels by holding them accountable. Blue sky's ahead folks !
There you go. That is the right way to manage this.
But I'm going to bet Wynne isn't going to even respond. She knows he's right, and knows he will destroy her integrity.
They are going to create a slush fund and STEAL from it. Nothing will change that will help climate change ... nothing.
Ontarians (by electing 3 Liberal majorities in a row) are strangely unable to unable to understand what McGuinty and Wynne have done to the Province's finances. To put it relatable terms, they have:
-Maxed out the credit cards;
-Maxed out the line of credit;
-Put a reverse mortgage on the house, thus wiping out any equity;
-Sold the car (Hydro); and
-Are currently trying to figure what else to put on Kijiji so they can make some minimum payments and keep the collection agencies from calling for a little while.
At the same time the opposition parties still remain incapable of putting forth a leader that is actually electable. The PC's in particular keep snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and seem destined to do it again in the next election.
You've just prefectly described why Ontarians keep electing Liberals. It's because that's exactly how 75% of the people run their houshold finances and literally can't see the difference. So far,they're getting away with it because interest rates are being deliberately and artificially suppressed. Eventually,this "house of (credit) cards" will come crashing down. It'll make the American's "too big to fail" financial meltdown of '08 and '09 look like yardsale.
Wynne couldn't care less what O Leary says. She has a majority and will do whatever she wants.
Let's hope
I agree she'll ignore it.
I also agree, Kevin needs to keep throwing those hammers.
Because ignoring it, is actually a response - whether she likes it or not. It means I have no defense and you are
right, and I hope the rest of the nation doesn't wake up.
If this were an instance where a demonstrably moronic clown (such as Leo DiCaprio) was commenting on issues that he/she has no knowledge of then I would agree with you Terry. In this instance O'Leary has both the background and the media visibility to make Wynne wince. I don't think her skin is that thick.
For these reasons I believe there will be a reaction going forward. I expect that the Ontario Liberals will back off. Example, the seniors drug cut backs are being reviewed. They are in up to their necks and they know it.
Note: Leo believes Chinooks are global warming.
Isn't this his second attempt to stir up provincial politics?
Didn't he offer money a million if Notely resigns? What was the response from the media?
I'd say the exact opposite of this is true. O'Leary is out of his league and Wynne won't be ruffled by him in the slightest.
I applaud his attempt, and I'm happy someone with a very visible media platform is calling her out. But the guy is just a talking head on a Canadian TV program. Wynne currently controls more wealth and assets than O'Leary can even dream about. The guy isn't even one of the top richest Canadians.
With a net debt of $300B and climbing through the stratosphere,Wynne controls an insurmountable debt with assets leveraged to the hilt. In effect,this province is a hair's breadth from bankruptcy. All it will take is a sudden sustained spike in the interest rates and we're done like dinner. Liberals know Liberal dogma. They're completely incapable of even a modicum of common sense when it comes to finance. They simply lurch from scandal to scandal,crisis to crisis and try to piss on fires.
I agree Wynne doesn't have a thick skin. She called people who didn't agree with her changes to the health education homophobes. If you have objections to the refugee plan, you are a racist and Xenophobic. Anyone who questions her decisions leading this province are denounced and called names by her wife.
I (and many others) don't dislike Wynne because she is gay rather her ideas which seem half baked but she is trying to beat her detractors down with a massive club in order to try to silence them and it is starting to wear more than a little thin. She uses juvenile techniques to try to deflect any serious inquiry into her policies rather than defend them or even acknowledge any issues with them.
Thin skin indeed Dyth. Should of seen the look on her face when journalists dared ask her about the Sudbury by election scandal.Pure contempt and hate. I will see if I can find it as it sheds a light on just who this &itch really is.
Cant find the vid but this is a still from the attempted interview where she ran and hid in an elevator as reporters were asking questions about the Sudbury scandal.
Scary stuff eh kids.

Yikes what a cold stare ! Very creepy.
Gives me a craving for popcorn................
First, you know as well as I that Wynne is not responsible for most of that debt, nor that it is uncommon for administrations to carry substantial debt loads, NOR THAT Ontario is anywhere close to bankruptcy. At current economy rates the debt would have to be $500+ Billion RIGHT NOW for us to be at risk of bankruptcy. As it stands, we're actually still a preferred borrower.
That's not to say the LIbs shouldn't get kicked to the curb and some better admins voted in right now. She's a tool. She still controls roughly 7000x the assets and wealth that O'Leary does.
He's a venture capitalist. He's no more self-made than Trudeau. He threw money at a few long shots and got lucky. Then he started bending poor entrepreneurs over and taking them for everything they had. And along the way he's had a crap load of monumental failures. I repeat - he's not even in the top 100 wealthiest Canadians - there are some MUCH more powerful folks who could actually lean on Wynne and they WOULD make her sweat.
I find her scarier than any horror film villain. Ever.
Looking at that picture just made me " barf ".http://www.oodmag.com/community/images/icons/sick.gifQuote:
Isn't that the picture they show guys in the ER who come in with an erection lasting more than four hours?
Lmao. Thanks guys.
I'm just waiting for another Ontario's credit downgrade and a full blown panic when borrowers won't issue loans to Ontario Government anymore. Austerity measures. ahhh chaos.
I say O'Leary for PM! If I didn't know any better I'd say he is probably planning to get into the political arena.
