Liberal or Conservative

I thought it was time to post some humour given that we all likely need a smile given the Federal Election results...:joker:

Recently, while I was working in the flower beds in the front garden,
my neighbours stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog.
During our friendly conversation, I asked their 12 year old daughter
what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be Prime Minister someday.

Both of her parents who are Liberals were standing there, so I asked her,
"If you were Prime Minister what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed with pride!

"Wow! What a worthy goal!" I said. "But you don't have to wait until
you're Prime Minister to do that!" I told her.

"What do you mean?" she replied.

So I told her, "You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull
weeds, and trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50. Then you can go over
to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can
give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight
in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do
the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Conservative Party."
Her parents aren't speaking to me any more.

Sounds like my cousin..... close to reality ... very close and a rather sad display of the lack of integrity actually.

He kept putting up Occupy B.S. and I finally got sick of it when he put one up about the PM's pension being $500K... this was about a year after the Conservatives had revamped the pensions...

he went into a rant about me having my head up Ezra's a....

Winston S. Churchill supposedly once observed that anyone who was not a liberal at 20 years of age had no heart, while anyone who was still a liberal at 40 had no head. If there’s any truth to the observation, one wonders what to make of today’s college students.

.. I grew up around the first Trudeau in power.... can safely say I wasn't a liberal but have had few question my heart.

So much for freedom of the press, free speech and freedom of expression being taught in schools. Just goes to show how of touch with reality they have become.How "self important" they are and how "powerful" they are or think they are.

Children can be brainwashed by parents, (as you have shown), teachers and church as well . Leave them alone and let them decide for themselves when they are mature. Hence no baptisms of infants.

Children spend the majority of the time in a classroom being brainwashed by Liberal followers. Teachers actually have more one on one time with our kids than the parents. That was my children's biggest complaint while in high school most teachers pushing the Liberal agenda. It was even worse when my oldest son attended University of Ottawa for one year and left for the same reason and transferred to another university.Fortunately my children were taught to question and ask for proof in a respectful manner.

I am not sure what you mean about no baptism of infants fishermccann. I know many people who received baptism as an infant who no longer attend a church. Why does it matter ? They were not brainwashed into it. I also know people who received baptism again as adults.

Te teachers are free to boycott it all they want, however if they restrict access to that paper for their students they deserve to be fired.

My 13 old daughter’s report card came home the other day. The first paragraph contains how she must improve her understand of climate change and the role it plays in society and the planet. I asked why they would say this (I will take a picture tonight), she said “Dad, you always say global warming is lie, and it is only a way for liberal to increase taxes”, She also told the teacher “about if global ice caps are melting, they won’t flood the earth, just think of ice cubes in a glass of water” Apparently she has listing to daddy a lot and refuses to believe what they are teaching about climate change. One last point she made “My dad said we should be more worried about air pollution and water pollution as this will kill humans before CC”. I love my daughter…

I suggest you learn Archimedes Principle , before teaching your child any ideas about ice cubes.

Good for her. just make sure to coach her on how to get good marks, debate is long dead. The David Suzuki's have almost criminalized the scientific method and proper analysis of the data. She will have to learn to pick her battles and probably always have to tell the teachers what they want to hear as compared to what is empirical or even scientifically correct . I mean look, Canada sent 383 people to Paris for the summit spending millions there and then spent about $4B to help other nations, the debate is "closed" (minds too), the gravy train is warming up.

If you want her to learn more and she is willing to sit there are some good videos on this thread including Nobel Lauriete (real ones not like a poser Kristy Duncan) and Burt Rutan from an engineers view etc.

A truthful answer to someone that doesn't care about truth only their own opinion can cause alot of problems! Being right and marks and promotions can be opposites, At one company I was appointed Senior System Analyst and long story shorty I asked how the two systems could talk using different drug identification systems. I knew they were incompatible and told them how and why I knew it, I was removed by the project manager and eventually ended up dead ended and within a year left... of course the last company meeting I attended I got to hear they had to write off the project due to "issues". I was right, I told them so bluntly (and still would but more politically correct) but being right got me nowhere and it has happened other times too. It isn't too young for her, she will need to use her head in school and starting out to sometimes give people answers they want AND other times to keep her integrity.

Thanks... BUT the point I make to my kids on big issues etc... DON'T ASSUME what you read or hear is truthful all the time! Check!

I think it is true given the sources, the consistency of what I am reading from those that say they are experts etc. but remember how the underlined word is can be pronounced....A** Uh ME.

Scientists like to think they are of pure mind and soul. Right. They hated Harper because he cut back funding on mostly redundant or duplicated research that had little value to Canada's interests. Scientists often feel entitled to research grants just because they want it. Harper wasn't muzzling scientists, he just refused to bankroll useless research. A Phd is not an entitlement to lifetime employment at taxpayer expense.
