Anyone buying any new Turkey hunting gear for this season?
Not me I'm set for a few more years
I haven’t bought anything in a long time, but this year I bought a new hen decoy to replace an old one that seen its day. I also got a blind that one side is see through to keep my kids entertained when they come and to keep them more concealed . These purchases was more of a want then a need lol
I should replace my old "Love Triangle" set of decoys (2 hens and a jake) they just don't seem to attract like they use too. My full body looks okay but needs new tailfeathers and a hen that was given to me looks to plasticy .
I bought a new Turkey seat that doubles as a back-pack for decoys, etc. Pretty slick! :)
My son is getting into turkey hunting and wants to get his own calls. I haven’t bought new calls in 20 years. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced slate call and box call?
all I need are a couple new mouth calls
Not this year. For the last couple of years. I've purchased new decoys, new blind and most importantly, a new gun that I really didn't need. So I'm good for awhile.
New shells Federal doesn't make mine anymore
A new hat with earflaps for cold mornings (black) and a couple of trail cameras to see whats moving about. Last summer I was across the border at the Ogdensburg, NY Walmart, and they were blowing out calls for way less than half of the regular price, most were $5 to $15 USD. I grabbed one of everything that was decent, so I'm set for the rest of my career, or until my newborn grandson decides if he has an interest in hunting. I sure as hell wont be back there any time again soon.
Just got a new Stevens 301 20guage. Couldnt get the Turkey addition anywhere in Canada so I went with the non-turkey model. Now to have it drilled and taped for a red dot sight and will need Turkey choke as well. Let the games begin!
I grabbed a new camo vest and some quieter calls for this season
Stevens 301dropped off at General gun in Windsor to install a scope rail. I went ahead a bought a Carlsons .555 choke tube as well.
Now I just need to find a decent red dot that won't drain my fun money account.
Hopefully I have it back this weekend so I can begin the patterning process. If not I'll hunt with the crossbow. :)
