This professor tells it like it is while everyone else is self censoring.

He became part of the system when he accepted a position at the university. It's no secret granting agencies ask about diversity and inclusion. Tick the box on the form, get your money and move on or don't ask for the money in the first place.

Affirmative Action was a dismal failure in the past Joe..and yet they are doing it again now with gender and diversity equality goals. Merit is not a consideration anymore.

Not hiring someone because she is woman is as sexist as hiring her because she is a woman.

Same with race. If you hire because of skin colour you're just as much as racist than if you don't hire them due to their race.

It works both ways unless your a 'progressive' in which case gender/race equity goals are more important than substance and merit.

They might get into medical school based on diversity and inclusion but they only get out if they make the grade.

The professor wants to hire a person with qualifications. Not a placemat based on criterias placed there by bureaucrats.
The most qualified gets the job. That is how its done. This woke society has been detrimental to businesses and society.

My company hired a person to fill a position and satisfy the government directives.
His background was banking.
The position being filled was technical and hands on in nature.
He struggled for a year and this caused frustration with the team as he was not picking up the slack.
He finally left after being totally stressed and unable to do the job.
What did that accomplish? Nothing but cowering to an out of control woke government.

When applying for grants, there are particular phrases you need to include on your proposal.
My daughter works at Waterloo in the math department's grant administration.
Her job is to ensure that the applications are worthy of being submitted from a technical perspective.
Beyond that she also ensures that all the correct boxes are checked and that all the correct phraseology (is that a word?) is used to ensure the grant is approved - and that is the most critical part of her job. It's not what you say, its how you say it.

All Fed government Grants, Proposals, Employment and Contract submissions all have a standard set of 'boxes' that ask everything from if you're a visible minority to if your handicapped. The more boxed you check, the better the chance your file will move forward. The professor decided no play the game and a consequence, his paperwork was sent to purgatory.

Universities don't license doctors. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario do and a medical degree from a university is only the first step.

Once the medical degree has been granted by a university, what grounds is there for refusing to license?

Well Joe like some of the previous posters have stated 'now that the shoe is on the other foot".

Just for the record I am not a fan of "affirmative action" it has caused more harm that good, a lot of incompetent folks are in positions where they are being paid big money for poor performance. I know of incidents where promotions were given not on merit but to get rid of a troublesome employee into another branch or department.

Its been very damaging for police services, minorities hired or better qualified none minorities, given more points for color or language skill,s.

When they were asked to Police their own communities as a reflection of that community they did not want to do it, Black officers did not want to patrol housing projects where much of the crime was committed by criminals of black color. Asian officers who would not work in Chinatown because they were afraid of their families being targeted by triads. So I am not blind to this stuff.

Well Bushwhacker calling to arms the forces you stated in previous posts do not exist is dangerous as are all the dog whistles we read on here. None of this stuff promoted by the right helps and plenty promoted by the left has gone way overboard.

So we have elections to balance all this stuff out, unfortunately at this time in history the balance seems swayed to the left. The right has a lot to blame in this, because they also go overboard.

I will give you an example, Parliament just opened again and Erin O Toole basically refused to say how many of his MP,s were vaccinated. He wanted to get back into the house IN PERSON with his party to knock the crap out of the Liberals. Nothing wrong with that.

But then the first move by the Liberals joined by the NDP and probably the Bloc, is that now Parliament will be run virtually, exactly the opposite of what Erin said he wanted.

I was just thinking about this yesterday, we are all being distracted.

Wall Street bankers defrauded folks around the globe and stole all their money, including tax payers pensions and then got bailed out by the same guys they robbed. Half of Americans lost their homes. We all want an honest and competent person at the controls of the airplane or the bus or driving a truck but it seems there is an agenda to average down government and positions of power to the level where they are held by the incompetent rather than the best candidate. Division, entitlement, lies, coverups, incompetent (or sabotage, your call) decisions have doubled Canada's deficit that took 150 year to create in 6 years and pushed Canada in the direction where their supporters actually seem to like and want the disaster zooming at Canada's future.

I spent a couple hours talking to someone I know that grew up in China and the programs and hardships created by not being "red enough" would end you up writing daily confession documents to hand in, sent to work in the Gobi or other internal exile. Listening how a couple committed suicide together because of it or the abuse and beatings for not being politically correct or even just disagreeing with the wrong person at work reminds me of the way the left is behaving and some of the far right is starting to go that way too. To have a PM with this view after listening to the stories I heard today really shows how far down the sh** hole we are.
