Just as the title states. Can't say it surprises me but I did hope they would have went further. Oh well as always maybe next year.

i really should start to bet on this stuff. called it lol.
i call them the choke queens.
It’s hard to watch. Not much entertainment. They need to gut the team. They aren’t playing to win.
What the Leafs need is someone to stop the puck for them. The likes of Johnny Bower(Old Lucky) seems to have allude the team. They need a goalie that can provide them with shutout hockey, and give them an opportunity to work through their stages of choking. Playing as a team a rather than loading things upon the shoulders of a champion doesn't make much sense, especially when the champion becomes sideline with an injury.

Not a great hockey fan and while I enjoy watching sports I have never been emotionally wrapped up in the fortunes of any sports team. The annual collapse of the Toronto Maple Leafs isn't a matter of if but when. The angst of Leaf fans followed by despondency is an annual spring tradition.
The Jays could probably Beat the leafs lol.

see how easy it is to skate around a bunch of blue pylons???? and all you guys thought they had to be orange! shame on you!
I've bled Blue for 43 years....it's hard to admit, but it's actually getting easier to accept as the team hasn't been built to win a cup in forever. Jack Campbell gave them a chance to win every single game. As usual, our core 10+ million dollar Lads, were afraid to take a real mens hit, and didn't put everything on the line...I look at say Colorado, or Boston, or Islanders games.....and our boys in blue would be carried off in stretchers after every single dump in the zone.....until the uppers start signing more "men"....we're gonna have the same results year after year....I feel better now....that was kinda therapeutic......:)
I think what makes this more painful is ... they have the talent (checkmark) ... COVID produced a format where they had a great chance of getting to the semi's at least (checkmark) ... they were up two games!!! (checkmark) ... and it still failed.
We all know, if they can't succeed now, how will they ever succeed ... this is as good as it's probably going to get.
So hope ... that thing that keeps us going ... hope is gone.
When you lose hope, you are gutted.
Ya, the game was painful to watch.......Price got into their head right and proper and nice and early. When the Leafs were not playing slap hockey they were playing dump and chase hoping that something would magically happen. The Hab's just wanted it more and Price stood on his head - I'll give credit where credit was due.
The "Ballard curse" is still alive and well and haunting the Leafs no matter what they do or where they go. Somehow, they need an Excorsist.
Don Cherry was,as usual, right on the money when he said "When teams have a chance to eliminate an opponent and blow it,the great hockey Gods will get even." He should know because the exact same thing happened to him when he coached Boston......twice.
Pretty sure I felt the ground tremble last night here in Lanark when the center of the universe exploded lol.
Leafs were in the playoffs?
Lol, don't think I’ve watched a leaf playoff series since Gilmour. Vaguely recall checking in for one of the Boston game sevens.

My fiance was born in May 67. Just days after. Her dad blames her.
Maybe it's the organisation, media, and fans? That tune is religiously
Last time I followed the leafs were in the Gilmore and Clark days. At least if they lost Clarke still beat the tar out of who ever hit Gilmore.
I haven’t watched hockey since NHL strike not sure the year now
That's why I'm a Bruins fan :)
A guy I know wonders if Leaf fans have Stockholm syndrome
I remember one evening in the locker room of the curling club a few years back. There was about 40 of us there, one draw coming off and ours going on. Of all those people, I was the only one who had ever seen the Leafs win a Stanley Cup. I felt priviledged.
Yes I can say my HNIC viewership has dramatically decreased since the firing of Don Cherry. HNIC since the removal of Don Cherry has gone down the leftist rabbit hole ever since and will certainly never be the product it once was, just as many other things in this country have succumb too!
If it wasn't for the NHL broadcasts, the CBC would have been in the dumper years ago. When they fired Don Cherry over "wokism" BS, the writing is on the wall, especially, since Roger's has taken over the broadcasts and cable rights. Why Roger's is propping up CBC with those "toss 'em a bone" type contract extensions is beyond me unless they're making money off it from government.
All that plus the absurd BLM / taking a knee bulls**t that the NHL is not immune to unfortunately. No live audience in the stands...coaches and staff wearing masks...just seems so eery. Not to mention the players being able to dine in restaurants and freely travel while the rest of us are cooped up like factory farmed chickens. I refuse to support it.
