Mass Hysteria and Covid - 19

From the essay.

With Covid, there is no other explanation for the major discrepancies from country to country. The nations with worsening situations have the loudest media sensationalizing the situation. Find a country that is not influenced by modern Western media and the cases and deaths drop. China’s low numbers can be explained by state control of media reporting with calm, not allowing sensationalism. The US and the UK in particular have a much more hysterical and freaked out journalist class prone to exaggerating situations and outright fearmongering.

The severity of the virus from country to country is a reflection of media coverage, not the other way around. This explains how the Swine flu during the Obama administration did not get out of hand. The testing and reporting was stopped.

This thesis may seem radical to some, but there is no other obvious explanation for the ridiculous US numbers. Every explanation has been shallow or cliched involving racism, wealth gaps, health insurance, or Trump.

Media hysteria? Absolutely! Evidence is there in glaring detail for everyone to see if they care to take a hard look into the not too distant past history of story writing and "spin" in almost every instance. Never in the history of the world has the media abrogated their responsibility for unbiased,fair and balanced information presentation than what they've been doing to drive public sentiment through sensationalism and sheer fearmongering of the leftist agenda. These morons are the poster children for curbs on the press. They can yell,scream,whine and kevetch about freedom of the press for a democratic society,but,quite clearly,that went right out the window when the lefties lost the 2016 US and UK elections.

Some still won't believe it .

Even after the WHO said this is not the big one. Wait for the next it's going to be bad they say.

They have already been calling an epidemic why is that? We have been in a drug epidemic for years . The death rates are not far off from the drug and suicide epidemic we are in.

Especially when they have added more to the covid deaths . So by them admitting the truth our death rate is much lower than what is actually being said and used against us.

Was part of a discussion on FB the other day about the "fear mongering" and bias in the media. Some teacher, said something to the effect of " What bias? My BF is a reporter, he goes in, films what he see's and reports it".

I had to shake my head. Point out that bias doesn't always mean one or one side is lying, telling untruths, or even spinning. Balanced reporting by definition presents both or all sides in equal measure. Had to ask her, how many articles, how many studies is she seeing and reading on the other cost. Like suicides, Domestics, Substance abuse and the fact all that stuff will continue long after vaccines and Covid is a bad memory. And there are lots....

The obvious answer for the terrible numbers in the states is non compliance of many American people. Just look at how many people attended the motorcycle rally in South Dakota last year. This same attitude of “ you can’t tell me what to do” is prevalent in Alberta where the cases of Covid 19 have one of the highest percentage of cases in Canada. Stats can recently estimated that 1/3 of Canadians are not following proper Covid-19 safety protocols.

Media, CP 24 never stops................ This morning I see the Mayor of Toronto now trying in a roundabout way to blame the Primer and Prime Minister for the covid numbers......
The Toronto Mayor says, that he doesn't understand why the Provincial and Federal Government are not paying people who are sick with covid to stay home as they are contributing to the spread of the virus. Maybe if they are sick and going to work they should be charged or something, anyway... I am trying to understand this....
The Mayor first says its all the business, restaurants etc.....that are the problem....... They lock them all down, yet the numbers still go up.............Since that didn't solve the problem now lets move on to "If we pay the people that are sick with covid to stay home" it will reduce the covid numbers..........
The entire thing is being handled poorly and most are just grasping at straws to save their butts (poor decision makings).
I for one take whatever comes out of their mouths, with a grain of salt... (I won't give them my absolute trust-they are all liars to a certain degree) and the media sure plays it up

The Beaches are packed in some places

We have to remember that a few states said they were going to keep the economy open at all cost. Has that changed at all?

Look at China they had mass celebrations over the new year they wanted to eliminate it . The virus

Canada only wanted to slow it down. This is what we get this it the way we took. This is what we wanted . It's sad but the truth.

I've been saying we needed to stop travel since last February lol. I said we needed to eliminate it instead of slowing it down. I'm just a nobody for anyone to listen to like many other Canadians that are being ignored.

Wants the point in slowing the spread ?

China gave us many hints before they told us anything. Actions speaks more than words . When they built a hospital in 8 days speaks volumes that we all ignored.

I guess without a virus there was no opportunity. Now we have an opportunity.
Still haven't figured out that opportunity it brings. Not sure how a deadly virus brings us opportunity but hey just another meat head at the helm.

Depends on you definition of out of control.

With 381K deaths in a population of 328 Million is = .09% of the population.

Less than 1% death rate is hardly 'out of control

In regards to cases (positive): 23 million in a population of 382 million is = 7%

Again with only 7% of the population is sick, that is hardly 'out of control'

Well, I’m trying NOT to fall under the influence of the alarmists, but I still think 1.5 million cases over a week and the exponential growth we’ve seen can be classed as “out of control” because for the last 9-10 months the Americans, like us and most of the rest of the world, have been UNABLE to bring it UNDER control, despite spending hundreds of billions and destroying economies. I just wonder where we go from here.

A positive test is not a case. Start looking at the terminology they use "positive test = case" rather than the traditional "Case = illness requiring treatment" . Then look at the science behind the testing methods (PCR), the coding of COVID deaths, lack of excess deaths when compared to other years.

Start dealing with and examining those things and the COVID problem is greatly diminished.

Some places in the US. I think California? Have now ordered EMS to triage people. Whether car accident, heart attack, etc.If the paramedic thinks they have little chance of survival. They leave them.

Say what you will about over blown stats, some spinning, shell shocked people bombarded daily. Etc

It’s still serious.
The question should be. Where’s the perspective, the “balance”.

Re media.
I imagine ( don’t know), that South America, while they obviously have media. It’s nothing like North America’s.
South America ( if we choose to credit some of it), has some of the worst numbers.

Not difficult to see who benefits the most from these lockdowns. We still have to eat and support ourselves. The Global Elites are eliminating any kind of competition in regards to your dollars. Ontario used to spend a billion dollars a month in interest. That’s likely going to double at a minimum now. Picture what could be built with an additional 12-15 BILLION dollars a year.

Everybody wants to borrow to get by and avoid increasing taxes, while ensuring the millions of voters on the government tit stay satisfied. This was bound to happen sooner or later,

Look at Kingston On for an example. Very low numbers, except at times with students be they from out of town or the country being the primary transmitters, as well as the numerous prisons in the area being covid clusters. We have had a huge hospital addition being planned at KGH for the past few years, but it hasn't even broke ground yet. This is a project that should be fast tracked, however it has not. Why? The work force is there, the materials are available, just our leaders are busy doing other things I guess.
