Racism In Canada!

Taken from today's Sun, article by Brian Lilley; "Trudeau stumbles over racism"

"Did you know that Wilfrid Laurier [Liberal Prime Minister] once signed a cabinet order in 1911 that banned "any immigrants belonging to the Negro race which is deemed unsuitable to the climate and requirements of Canada."

So yes there is a history of racism in Canada. One we should all know about.

but hearing this from a politician with his own racist past, who heads a party with their own history of racism , it all rings hollow. "

The above is something for all the Liberal lovers to seriously think about!

Using the current definition, racism began the moment the first hom*sapien met another who had different colored skin, dressed differently, grunted a different language, worshipped differently or displayed different behavioral traits. What makes anyone think our attitudes are going to change before the earth implodes? And I'll say this too. Governments have only made it worse by trying to make it better by treating minorities or those persecuted with favoritism in an effort to appease them.

We are all people kind, but we are not all treated equal. Black lives matter, we say white lives matter then were racist, why?

A woman decides to take a nose dive off a building and the police are labeled racist!?! Has anyone noticed the Toronto chief isn't exactly an albino? I'm sure the cops in the apartment wanted to get out and grab a beer so the best way was the old heave ho..... give me a break.

Covid has too many morons sitting around with the idea that they can think for themselves. Nobody has the answers on any of the recent ongoings but they are quick to form a mob anyway. Considering everyone wipes their arse with white toilet paper maybe we should start looting and throwing molotov cocktails, I mean that has to be racist!

I know this post is a bit off of the main thread. I'm so sick of every radio station playing their "stop racism" commercials.

Are there racists, yup, and there always will be. Is it as bad as the world is making out, no.

Do the police make mistakes, damn right, lots of them and I've been part of some of their foolishness. Crap happens. Doctors, lawyers, dentists, criminals, and any other possible profession, they all make mistakes, it's how the public treats those mistakes that counts.

Even though they screw up a lot, I won't judge an entire group of people by the one mistake made when the force hired a murderer in the US. I wonder if the people looting and holding their little get togethers in hatred of the police forces realize how they themselves are the biggest group of discriminators out there. Think about it, the libs just punished a huge group of people with one hell of a show of discrimination and there's no looting, no tear gas, nothing but talks and legal actions.

The caste systems still exists today in many European countries. MY immigrant family name is Malick, and my parents grandparents were from Syria, came to Canada in 1903. At that time and today Malick family name is still associated with lower caste in Syria. Ironically, I assumed all my life until 2000 I was of NFLD blood. Turns out when I was Syria (UN, 1 year tour), I befriended a man in local shop who insisted I was of Arab descent, and I said now way - When speaking with my mom, she told the facts and gave me the family last name. The local Syrian, was able to trace my family name back and members of that family linage still exist today. I was brought to Aleppo to meet some them. We all are children of immigrants somehow.

We are all immigrants and we should all be treated equally! When I talk to my colleagues in the US about racism they talk mostly of black vs white and in Canada I see it more of 2nd or 3rd generation Canadian vs new Canadian (regardless of skin colour).

In Canada I believe we are open to immigration as long as our lives do not change & society stays static and the new Canadians adhere to our cultural norms and standards and do not seek any special treatment based on their cultural or religious beliefs. I am not saying this is right, wrong or indifferent but when I talk to people about racism in Canada they usually, in some varying degree, reiterate this point. There is deep racism in China, Russia, and middle east - people do not want to talk about that.

Que the politicians!! Now it is no surprise to anyone that the key to our growth in Canada is going to come from immigration. The politicians are the ones pandering to the different cultural groups........including the privileged white middle and upper middle class! Politicians only seek votes from the different cultural groups and if anyone says anything against their actions they are labeled a racist and shamed into submission. If anyone started a debate with a Liberal or NDP'er has usually seen this label fly around (especially when the said group started to loose the debate).
