Canada In Trouble

We Americans are looking at what is going on in Canada and shake our heads - because of some demonstrations the place has turned into a dictatorship over night - sure there was some inconvenience to some people but that is part of living in a democracy where people can demonstrate - things will never be the same with the way we view Canada -

I lived and worked in Canada back in the early 60s - people often asked me how I viewed Canadians - I had some very nice friends in Canada and still communicate with some of them - the main differences that I noticed was that the average Canadian was more liberal - less religious - and milder mattered - I believe these traits leave more room for what has recently happened up there -

If what is happening right now up there would happen here there would be an all out war - I hope I didn't break any forum rules by stating this - its just my views - ain't advocating any violence - as you all know I'm a peace loving old teddy bear

hmm, Capitol Building "attack" last year, around this time .... can you enlighten us why this war did not start after that ?

I was not born in 60s, but im sure average Canadian is still same. dont listen to the main stream media ...

Its true joe America is very good at being aggressive and starting wars all over the globe especially if they have Republican Governments but they are pretty terrible at winning wars.
What you see in Canada is a copy cat of what happened on Capitol Hill with again the right taking the law into their own hands and attempting in both instances to overthrow a duly elected government.
In both instances they failed, our Government did not call in the militia but gave the citizens three weeks to go away.
Even after three weeks when the police were used they did not use excessive force.

If I was to chose between what happened in Ottawa and lets say Kent State University where unarmed students were gunned down, I think I chose Canada.

Canada is just plain screwed under the Trudeau LIbErals. Violence against protesters, the lies, the seizing of bank accounts, the power grab that they are planning on making permanent and the accomplices that will lie, distract and like it.

Trudeau's oppressive crackdown and violence and threats as offensive and Freeland's comments about making some changes permanent a threat to human rights, freedoms and democracy. Seizing a single mom's bank account for example, her crime, she sent $50 to the truckers... banking trust, government trust, media trust ... #CanadaisFUBAR under #WorstPMEver

They have set a president that will be used again and again and the power it grants to the PM and his cronies likely on any issue where Canadians stand up for freedoms and rights. They will blame the right, they will blame free press, they will blame truckers as being white supremacist (even those most are Sikh etc) and they will distract and lie to get more powers!



They are working for Trudeau's favourite style of government. A simple meeting and a timelines (even if it is a lie) would have defused this but they exacerbated it as far as they could and chose what essentially is dictatorial in nature! AFTER the protest had been cleared, no justification except they wanted the power!

Funny story Joepa, it seems our neighbours garden was overrun by some bad weeds for about 4 years. In that time some seeds managed to blow this way. I agree 100% Joe it was our complacency and always looking at the bright side of things that got us here. The reason the Jan 6 demonstrations were not more violent was most Americans were not sure if the corruption of the election was enough to change the outcome - the armed citizenry will only put up with so much before it explodes - one thing about freedom - it required people to fight and die for it - and often it requires the same effort to keep it -

Ps if the government takes opportunities without public interest during a pandemic then they and the media mislead the public in so many ways. Definitely didn't follow the science on mandates did they.

The USA one should be good I mean the convoy . Not sure if they have the same intentions in staying or not but there will be disruptions for about a week as they drive across the states.


You might have the the biggest most peaceful protests in history lol. The truckers are all calling for peaceful protesters in turns to a giant party lol. They gotta get out the bouncy castles and hot tubs bring in live bands for all those angry extremists.

It's a shame Canada is in the state it's in.

That concept is completely foreign to Canadians because most weren't around during WW2. Revisionist leftist history is the only history taught in Canadian schools from Grade 7 through to the end of high school. The history of the Russian Revolution leading to Communism up until it's inevitable collapse,history of China,Viet Nam,Cambodia has never been part of civics classes,so,students have no idea what those totalitarian concepts were. That's why most Canadians can't (or won't) recognize it when they see it because they don't know what they're seeing happen right in front of their faces. This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
