Freedom of Speech takes a hit

This is not an insignificant event...Apple, Google and Amazon have blocked the App for a social media service called 'Parler' .

We now know the scope of things to come. Muzzle the population physically and electronically.
If you oppose, they will censor you. No room for honest debates and discussions.

Something the world has criticized China for doing for years. Yet here we have it in "land of the Free"

Unfortunately because our Village Idiot is one who admires a dictatorship, I can see how this can happen..the first $800 miilon to the MSM was a start.

you either stand for free speech or you dont - the "tolerant" Libs and Left stand for it only when it fits there agenda.
This is a huge attack on the american 1st amendment freedom of free speech, yes some will say Twitter can do what it wants, but when the lamestream news networks are compromised is was the only channel left to communicate on.
If they can silence the President then can silence anyone, you, me, etc...


The First Amendment provides that Congress make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting its free exercise. It protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

Maybe it is the time to learn from former eastern European Countries.Once the communists were gone-the new "democratic"left (former communists)made sure ,they owned all the media.
So-when the center and the right realized the POWER of the media ,and complained : in the name of fairness-pluralism-access to information etc etc,the left should"share"the media(HOW NAIVE wish),the answer was :

Much like our Rebel News...Ezra wanted a voice and was blocked , removed and banned anytime he was there to report when the Village Idiot was speaking. He had to take them to court (which he won) to get access as a reporter.

They still block him and I believe he has taken them to court several times and won, then they just do it again.

Trudeau is not really one who believes that laws apply to Liberals. Most Liberal supporters believe he is above the law.

The problem here is that freedom of speech is becoming misconstrued. The first amendment of the US constitution is where freedom of speech comes from, this is the actual text

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"

The key here is Congress, this silencing of trumps outlets is not through congress. This is a guy using free platforms, for which he has agreed to a code of conduct and abiding by their rules, to express something that they do not want on their platforms. Is this censorship, yes, but it is through an online forum that is run by a company that decided what is being posted, not by the government.

There are other versions of social media that have grown recently that are outlets for right wing propaganda and they cannot be shut down by the government, they are also not run by an organization that does not want them there, so they remain.

People need to remember that freedom of speech only means that you cannot be prosecuted for your words, unless they incite violence, but your employer can fire your for wearing their company badge while you commit federal crimes. This forum can remove you or lock your thread if you do not abide by the rules.
