To those hoping for carry permits

To me, the trust factor plays a big part. When I was getting my permit, MTP interviewed my wife, neighbour's, boss as well as the names I submitted. I don't recall who those references were as this all occurred about fifty years ago.
As a result of their investigations they decided that I could be trusted not to fly off the handle and shoot the place up so I got my carrying permit, good Canada wide, 24/7, any restricted handgun.
Then Trudeau #1 came along and decreed that we were all equal. In effect this meant that none of us were to be trusted any more than those in the GTA who the cops knew by sight. No one had ever accused me of any antisocial behavior but suddenly my privileges started to disappear .
It seems that our leaders feel that we are as corrupt as they.
