Haven't commented because, while I personally think the cops were overstepping. That's based on the video presented which does not show the entire incident. And I am not overly familiar with Australia's Covid law, just know they are pretty draconian. That said, earlier I did a few google searches using slightly different terms such as AU police brutality covid, AU police excessive force, AU police arrest women.
Will just say google yielded some surprising results. Quite a few reports of excessive force complaints, noteworthy against women,

While I usually side with cops and believe to a degree they should get the benefit of doubt. We don't have to look hard, nor think hard to recall incidents where more and more they are behaving like power hungry goons. All kinds of problems in the US over this issue. And more occurring here as well. Like teens being beaten by cops and losing eyes, and far more. Our cops are human too, and humans, nor any particular class are beyond the foibles and infallibility of humanity.
Some just think they are.
I've never much agreed with do as cops tell because they are god...That article Mike linked spells it out. Resisting arrest is only resisting when cops have grounds. And for what it's worth, early on in the vid it's quite evident she wasn't under arrest.
Looks and sounds to me, like the cops escalated it.
