They are an animal that makes profit, and does not necessarily have to do anything for the community, or population at large. We were talking how we are being gouged at the pumps around here (Belleville) over Christmas and that night when I stopped to top up at the new Pioneer station they had a sticker on the pump titled "Taxes on Gasoline Prices in Ontario". This is what it showed.Quote:

Nothing like taxing a tax. If gas is $1 per litre we're paying $0.377 in tax.
It's no wonder why either level of government ever does anything about the price of gas being manipulated.

Canada is 15 fed + 11-16 provincial so about 26-31%.

The trouble with the left/unions is that they regard all profitable corporations as benevolence societies where those profits are used to drive socialist handouts for others that don't/can't quite grasp the concept of work to get ahead in life. They also are about allowing the economy to grow through a thriving business sector. What is good for business has always been good for the country. Business thrives? For the 8th, most advantageous report it came from Forbes. KPMG states in 2006 the rate for Canada was 33% for the USA ,40%. In 2015 it was 26% in Canada and still 40% in the USA. Pray tell how dropping the rate helped us, ( not the company), and how keeping the rate higher, hurt the US ?
