That’s one of the most accurate descriptions of Canadian politics I’ve heard in a while. Especially the line about things that no one dares talk about. There is a faint glimmer of hope in the sense that there are many many people who echo these sentiments out in rural areas and thee have to be some in the suburbs too, another 4 years of leftist pandering garbage from Turdeau might be enough to swing some GTA ridings like Harper did. It won’t be enough to change the trajectory that Canada has found herself in though and the Wexit movement will gain more strength in the next decade. More power to them I say.

I'm not sure I follow.

(1) I said, Liberal voters vote for Liberals because of the free hand outs. I did not say Conservatives do not make use of the perfectly legal mechanisms provided by government. Two different things altogether. If your point is that Conservatives take the cash, and still vote Conservatives ... and you think that is hypocritical ... let's look at two situations .... (a) a Conservative looses income due to COVID ... and they should not?? take CERB?? (b) who's going to pay this all back?? WE ARE. So you're saying rather all the CERB money go to Liberal voters, but ... Conservatives no, no ... you don't touch, because you're a hypocrite then .... BUT! We'll be coming after you in taxes (and inflation) when it's time to pay! How is that fair??

(2) Paying cash to buy votes isn't just about CERB. It's also about government sponsored refugees that make $60k a year for doing nothing ... and have very little ambition to get a job or get educated to get a job. Government studies have been done that confirm employment rates for government sponsored refugees is TERRIBLE when compared to individual sponsored refugees/immigrants, after one to two years. Individual sponsored immigrants get to work, and contribute! And no, this is not about helping refugees ... it's about natural human behavior ... pay them tonnes of money, they have no incentive to work.

(3) Yes, I agree O'Toole just doesn't have a good perspective, a solid plan, and one that is in tune with the majority of Canadians. The big issue is that the Conservative platform works when there is long term application of fundamentals .... cut red tape, attract business, increase true employment, more corporate revenue and income, more tax revenue ... but less % tax to individuals, so more disposable income, etc. The Liberals have put us in so much debt, that it will take forever for us to fix it. And cost of living is just getting worse for everyone ... you basically need a 15% to 20% income tax CUT for things to work out nowadays .... it's impossible to do, without everything collapsing ... so now, Conservatives will try and do the right thing ... but it's basically too late to save the country ... so in my mind ... it's inevitable ... people will go for the free money option, and everything will collapse at some point.

I would be in favour of raising the voting age. That might help weed out a lot of teenage babysitters who voted for Trudeau because "he has nice hair", and lots of other teenagers who just want free stuff without having to work.

It's incredible how much my worldview and politics have changed for the better after say, the age of 28. Not suggesting we keep people from voting until then just illustrating a point about maturity and having skin in the game (wife, kids, property, small business, paying higher taxes, etc.)

Reminds me of the old quote: "If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at thirty, you have no brain."

My sister, at 63, admitted she voted for Trudeau because he had nice hair...I kid you not. That was common with women thru all ages.

Almost makes me wonder if we should reconsider having given them the right to vote... HaHa... (relax just a joke )

Same here, the lies, the big government etc. and pseudo communist b.s. of the Liberal's turned me off, that quote was from Churchill, it is very dated. Look at the behaviour of the current government, the political correctness etc.
