This will be an irrelevant stat, but I was curious how many mass shootings in Canada this year: 1.

Also when you remove cities like Chicago and other high crime cities where gang related SHOOTINGS are off the scale, gun violence numbers in the US falls way down the compared the rest of the world also.

Well they banned handguns within the city of Toronto around ten years ago. How did that work out? All it accomplished was the loss of a place for law abiding handgun owners to shoot when they shut down gun clubs within the city.

Be careful with the "don't see the point in owning something so nobody should own it" argument. After "assault rifles" are banned (whatever you consider those to be) and the problems don't go away, the next thing to go will be your pump shotgun and your bolt rifle. Will you then expect the (former) law abiding assault rifle owners to stand up for you?

What a senseless tragedy perpetrated by pure evil. An event that will have a ripple effect not only thru family, friends, first responders but any who hear of the carnage.

Agree but some States should and will lose some for the safety of others! Why can't I drink and drive?

How about they just close some of the loop holes....surely that doesn't take away anything from law abiding gun owners...

The illegal gun violence we see in Canada is from guns smuggled into Canada from the US. Theres massive profits in it. I believe vicecity did a documentary on it. A gun you can get in Detroit for $150 you can sell in Canada for $2000. Don't play that stupid BS card about them going to ban all guns. It's assault rifles and mag restrictions. Our laws up here are fine and shouldn't be touched. You don't defend your home with an assault rifle, hence the ASSAULT name.
