Candlelight dinner, Netflix movie and got lucky!
Wait! She did that for me!....lol
Guys often forget that men are not like women. (an ongoing problem with me). You can't judge what makes them happy by comparing to what makes you happy. Getting a gift and out for a meal can mean a lot to many women. So why not.
Now - off to Hawaii - that's a nice way to say "will you be my valentine?"
Nothing. We both checked with each other on Saturday
"You didn't get me anything, right?"
"Nope, you didn't get me anything either, right?"
"Nope. Promise?"
"Promise."
"Cool."
And it wasn't mentioned again.
Bulls@%t day.
That may be true Roper and is. Was married to one such and have dated a couple others.
If a woman "expects" X on VDay, my question to her is: why?
Because it's what you have been marketed and conditioned to expect?
Because your friends and family expect it?
etc
It's a manufactured day for something that should come naturally all year and can't be manufactured.
Love and appreciation.
Imo, the fact it exist and that so many seem to need it, is kind of sad.
I would like to assume that if a woman is regularly shown how much she is loved and appreciated be it little things here, there. Taking her out for dinners, or xyz......If she gets "nothing" on VD she won't be disappointed or shouldn't be at all.
I've long said
A single truffle out of the blue, trumps a bed of roses on VD.
We had the very same conversation as Oddmott. At our age.... 70 .... just each of us waking up in the morning is a true gift.
Bought my wife two lengths of coax ( 100 and 50 foot ) 20 feet of 450 Ohm twin lead, six insulators, and a pair of 60 meter coils/traps. A reference book on PSK31, and offered to let her use my soldering iron and tools when she builds her HF antenna.
Yes she did get that for Valentines day, and that is the list of gifts she told my ex girlfriend. Which makes the EX mad because first she never got anything, and second that my wife would be happy with that as valentine gifts. Karen likes to annoy her that way.
What was not mentioned was the supper the weekend before, the dozen roses and the two dozen tulips she got on Friday. ..and the fact that we are still planning more valentine stuff next weekend.. Valentines does not have to be only one day a year.
