The so-called "Freedom Convoy" met the Criminal Code definition of an "unlawful assembly" when it blockaded streets and ignored instructions to leave. Additional laws were broken when they ignored orders under the Emergency Act and police were required to remove them by force. The leadership and some of the more notable participants are now facing charges and are behind bars or out on restrictive bail conditions.Quote:

Unless the protest in downtown Ottawa was about an elected leader destabilizing the entire nation, and wanting to overthrow his government. ( Must have missed that in the demands put forward.).
Blockades are a separate issue. Lanes were left open, businesses were happy despite the false msm narrative. Laws were broken by the government, and the funds were frozen before the bogus state of emergency was declared. Violence was initiated by the government.Quote:

That isn't MSM "Narrative", that's a guy who lives in Ottawa....and knows several of the people mentioned.

But the fact that they are scrapping the vax pass tomorrow and have severely changed their tune on covid/restrictions shows this was effective. Millions have woke up. It's unfortunate that those tradesmen couldn't work for a few weeks, but they should be directing their anger towards tyrannical government overreach that has locked them down and had them fired over the past 2 years. Many small businesses were busier than ever, and police were recently going around trying to intimidate or fine some of those businesses for daring to serve the truckers. A local gelato shop had its window smashed and was threatened for showing support for freedom.
Hopefully we have some brighter days ahead.

Doug Ford announced his intention last fall to lift the vaccine passport in January but was delayed by Omicron. He'd always planned to lift it and the timing has nothing to do with the illegal occupation of downtown Ottawa and everything to do with declining hospitalization rates.
