An Ontario doctor and outspoken critic of the pandemic response who was previously banned from offering COVID-19 vaccine and mask exemptions has now been suspended.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) issued an interim order to suspend the certificate of registration for Dr. Rochagne Kilian effective 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
“The interim order was made under the Health Professions Procedural Code of the Regulated Health Professions Act which permits the college to issue interim orders where it has evidence to support that patients would otherwise be exposed to risk of harm or injury,” a CPSO statement released Thursday says.
“Although we are limited in what we can disclose at this point, additional information about Dr. Kilian’s conduct will be made available at the earliest possible opportunity. That may include allegations referred to the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal.”
A physician can appeal interim orders to the courts where CPSO would provide supporting information for its decision, the statement said.
The CPSO has directed that physicians have a professional responsibility to not communicate “anti-vaccine, anti-masking, anti-distancing and anti-lockdown statements and/or (promote) unsupported, unproven treatments for COVID-19.”
Kilian, of Owen Sound, has been vocal in her criticism of COVID-19 vaccines, and how the medical community and governments have responded to the pandemic.
She is one of a handful of doctors who has been told they cannot offer vaccine exemptions.
