So on the telly tonight CBC of course the pundits stated that Erin has taken a calculated gamble with "his base" he might loose a few votes in Alberta and Saskatchewan but feel's he will gain votes in Ontario and Quebec.

Get $500 to put in your carbon account....ok...what do you do with $500 ? It’s a drop in the bucket in the purchase of an electric vehicle, and $500 will maybe get you one new window in your house- installed by a few government-approved contractors ....the conservative base is not going to like the govt collecting money, giving it back as a rebate and telling people what they can spend it on. This is a Liberal-lite policy.
From the way I can see it he's trying to meet in the middle and steal a few greenie votes from the libs.

Might be worse. A private contractor to collect your data to administer your account (how else would they know how much you are spending on carbon), Account fees, Possibility of negative interest rates to tame the debt and avoid mortgage defaults. What if you rent an apartment downtown, ride a bike to work, that money is pretty much useless. The only thing I like is the tariffs on the made in China crap.
