Mark Carney: His role in the Great Reset

Mark Carney is not only the Liberal Golden Boy...he is an architect in the plan to 'reset' the economy after the "opportunity" created by the pandemic.

I believe one is. Seriously. We are heading towards an economic wall.
As well as a multitude of social unrest, inequity and more. I personally suspect if nothing is done, it’s going to implode, into civil strife/war before CC kills a lot of us off...

if nothing else. Just consider R/E. the epitome of capitalism and greed. My daughter lost out on a house in South Oshawa. Think small wartime bungalow. Ask was around 400,000. It sold for 625,00....

I am really small guy in all this debate-but seems to me like the MARRIAGE of the 2 bad systems: Capitalisam and Socialisam.
Capitalism is bad in its own(especially the initial model)-but so far ,there is no better and successful economic model from the past.

Why Socialism is bad for the economy -because there is no market to dictate....they WERE producing to the 5 Year plan(or 3 year-plan, You name it).To the plan which popped out from soemone's head(sitting in Position high up, to be able to drive it).
Or-plans based on research and proposal of the few(which were approved by the Communist Party )

Like it will be done by the proposed entities -we know" what is good for You" and You will like it.

In Socialisam there were products made for dozens of years,way outdated.These were products -no one wanted.
There were yearly-daily quotas of products to be made(to motivate Management and Workers)which were going to the warehouses.
There were wasted resources and wasted environment to meet these goals.
There were cars -if you did not signed up for one,with a deposit-AND waited 3-5 years for one to arrive-you had none. Or ,had to buy one "used"one-for 3x the price!
There is million ways to explore why Planned Economy never works.

I do realize much can/should be changed in the current Capitalist model.
Sorry ,but this proposal seems to replicate the same old Socialist Economic Model-different ways.

For the benefit of the ones they are propagating it.

Capitalism as we know it, has been “the best”. People gripe about Wall Street, or debt. But fail to realize without it, the Industrial Age would not have happened. Most of us, wouldn’t have the jobs we do, lifestyles we have....Every single one of us, relies on other people spending $$, for our paychecks. And like any pyramid....

However, all good things come to end. And if something isn’t done soon.

Capitalism much like democracy is the worst system except for all the others. Capitalism for all the "greed" and bad things people talk about has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system. History has shown that anything other than capitalism leads to misery. A rising tide lifts all boats.

I think a lot of the problems we see in our current form of capitalism are a result of government interference. When the government picks winners and losers through policy and regulation we all lose.

One thing that any society in history has never been able to get away from is the fact the people in power will shape whatever economic system they are part of to benefit them.

We are headed for some strange times ahead. I’m not sure how everything will play out, but it will be noticeably different. Our current growth is unsustainable. Capitalism is not perfect in its current form. The divide is becoming increasingly apparent in society. If something doesn’t change society might decide to take it upon themselves to change it. We are generally a peaceful people in Canada, compared to rioting and protesting around the world. But eventually the straw will break the camels back. Then again, maybe not. Maybe we are to polite for that non-sense.

Socialism and communism have some merits. The systems are not to blame for their failures, the people running them are. People are susceptible to the temptations of greed and therefore can be motivated to alter a true altruistic course of action.

We need to stop considering professional politicians for the position of politics. They are so deeply involved in the system they cannot be trusted to do what’s right. They say what needs to be said, but rarely do what needs to be done. Politics is a shameful popularity contest. It has no repercussions for doing a bad job or making mistakes, like real world jobs. It is a joke. We need to consider the average joe/Jane for political positions. They would have a better pulse on society.

Yes, I think there will be some form of a reset. To believe that everything will carry on as normal is a losing bet.

While there are dozens of examples, the most obvious of free market going wrong is R/E. A number of reasons for that, not the least of which is lack of foresight and policy with respect to supply/demand and where the jobs are. If for example China is where people can find work, and money. Well everyone would want to move there.

Lifting people out of poverty and trickle down. We could argue that education and healthcare are also big part of that. Both things that are more socialism, than capitalism......

But the philosophical question there might be. While true, why is it, some of the happiest cultures are some of the “poorest”...and as it pertains to the West, and here and now. If trickle down actually worked, the middle class wouldn’t be shrinking. It would be growing. Though obviously taxation, is a huge huge part what is kneecapping the “have nots”.
