2015 Trail Cam contest winners

by Bill Hodgins | February 23, 2015

Joly Township sits about 50 minutes south of North Bay, sandwiched between the town of Sundridge and Algonquin Park. It’s a hunting hotbed. George Battye can attest to that.

George Battye – first prize
Last September, Battye was checking on his trail camera when he found a beauty. Now, his decision to share his find has worked out pretty well for him. His moose photo was the runaway winner in the Ontario OUT of DOORS 2015 Trail Cam Contest.

After OOD staff narrowed down the list of entries to 25 for the contest, a vote was held to choose the three most popular. There were some impressive photos to choose from. With close to 4,000 votes counted, the moose photo finished far ahead of the pack. Battye says the moose, along with a cow and calf, turned up at other times on his camera.

Tom McClelland
– second prize

Second place went to Tom McClelland for his eagle trail cam photo.

Dan Armstrong
– third prize

Finishing third was Dan Armstrong for a beautifully backlit photo of a deer.

The grand prize is a Wildgame Innovations 8MP Wildgame BCN 8 Micro Camera and seven-inch trail tablet (MSRP value is $329.99). Second prize is a Wildgame Innovations 10 mp Crushed 10 Lightsout Camera (MSRP value $219.99). Third prize is a Wildgame Innovations Razor 6 camera (MSRP value $99.99). Thank you to all who entered.
